About Simons Digital Solutions
Who we are
Simons Digital Solutions is an Australian-owned digital agency that helps small businesses make better use of technology. We focus on the practical end of small-business tech — the tools, software, and equipment that tradies and small business owners actually use day to day — and we cover them in plain English, with honest assessments of what's worth your money and what's not.
The site is run by Joshua Symons, based in Perth, Western Australia. Joshua's background is in data analytics, finance, and automation, which means the writing is anchored in the same kind of thinking that goes into our dashboard builds: what does this actually save you, what does it actually cost, and where does it break.
What we do
We do two things. First, we publish weekly articles — reviews, comparisons, and how-to guides — pulled from products that are genuinely trending on Amazon Australia. Second, we build custom dashboards and workflow automations for small businesses: job profitability reports, weekly summary emails, and connected quoting/invoicing/scheduling tools that flow data without you touching it.
If you're a tradie or small business owner who'd rather not spend the weekend wrestling with spreadsheets, the dashboard service is built for you. The articles are free; the dashboards are a paid service. Either way, you'll find the same approach: clear, practical, and grounded in what actually saves time.
How we choose products
Products we cover are sourced each week from Amazon Australia's Best Sellers and Movers & Shakers lists across categories that matter for trades and small business: tools, hardware, industrial PPE, automotive and fleet gear, office equipment, computers, networking, and electronics.
We then filter that pool down by quality and relevance:
- Minimum 4.0-star average rating
- At least 50 customer reviews
- Title and category match a curated list of trade and small-business use cases (drills, multimeters, hi-vis, ratchet straps, label printers, monitors, smart plugs, accounting software, networking gear, and more)
- No gaming, RGB, kids' or novelty products
The shortlist gets ranked, the top results get reviewed, and an article is published. The whole pipeline runs every Monday morning.
